88 undeveloped acres at fort harrison

Here's your chance to get Lawrence and the Fort Reuse Authority thinking about your ideas for how the 88 acres should be used. A public pool or modern library would be nice!

Subject: Upcoming Fort Harrison Public Meeting

Dear Neighbor:

The Fort Harrison Reuse Authority and the City of Lawrence cordially invite you to attend a public forum on March 20th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Sterrett Center to discuss the preferred redevelopment concept plan for the development of Fort Harrison. The public forum will focus on the best uses for the approximately 88 undeveloped acres at Fort Harrison between 56th and 59th streets and between Post and Lee roads.

Public involvement and community support is a key component of the planning process. FHRA staff, planning team members and Lawrence officials will be on hand to answer questions and receive your suggestions regarding future planning and development.

It is important that the community voices their suggestions, issues and dreams so that we can incorporate them in to the planning process. This is an opportunity for you to have a significant voice in your future and the future of Lawrence.

Please forward this e-mail to anyone that may have an interest in the development of Fort Harrison. We look forward to hearing your suggestions and insights.

Sincerely,

Ehren T. Bingaman
